Hyderabad: Citizens can now check land use status through Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-BPASS) under Land Use Information Service and execute their plans accordingly.
The service was formally launched on February 15. Currently, the service is being extended to survey numbers in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits.
People usually seek details of the land use pattern before making any investment or starting a residential or commercial project. Many times, some developers or companies mislead people and claim to have all the approvals for the layout of the land, while the land is classified as agricultural or conservation areas.
Under the TS-Bpass land use information service, citizens can check survey number details and land use pattern including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, recreational and conservation areas.
The scheme was aimed at helping citizens check land use patterns and obtain certificates accordingly. Before carrying out work, citizens can check the survey numbers falling under residential or commercial areas and plan accordingly, a senior official of TS-BPASS said.
Citizens willing to check the land use pattern of a particular survey number have to apply online at the link lui.tsbpass.telangana.gov.in. They have to submit personal details, survey number, village, municipality etc. and make the payment online.
Citizens are allowed to seek details of a maximum of five survey numbers in each application. The official said that Rs 500 will have to be paid for details of each survey number, apart from a processing fee of Rs 100.
Soon after the application is filed, the planning officer conducts a thorough inspection and within 21 days, the details are shared with the applicants. The details shared under the service only certify the land use pattern for the applicants. They have to apply for building plan approval permission separately as per the category.
The official said, “After testing the land use information service for a few months, it will later be extended to the limits of Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) under Phase II.”
Currently, citizens obtain details of land use patterns through the Development Permission Management System (DPMS). Since the launch of the service in 2016, around 40,000 applications have been filed under this system.
Now, to bring all building and layout related services under one roof, the authorities have launched Land Use Information Service under TS-bPASS. In all likelihood, once the Land Use Information Service is stabilized, the DPMS option will be discontinued.
