Hyderabad: Water expands when it freezes and the ice expands beyond the volume of the pipe and can cause cracks. A small crack is enough to expand over time and cause a leak when water pressure increases. There can be many reasons for water leakage inside the house and here are some of the reasons:
Fragmented seals
When an appliance is installed, the contractor makes sure to put seals around all water connectors and over time, the seals start to break down. If you notice condensation on or around your appliance then this is a case of a broken seal.
The jammed lines
Clogged drains cause inconvenience and most of us face it at one time or another and can lead to pipes overflowing or bursting.
War
This is the main cause of water leakage in most homes. Over time, the plumbing system gets old and rust eats away at the pipes. If you see rust on your pipe, you know it is damaged. If you have an old plumbing system, make sure to replace the pipe.
Deformed pipe joints
Most pipe joints are not readily visible and you have to dig deeper to understand their function. If your pipes make noise, especially when you turn on the hot water, chances are your pipe joints are under a lot of pressure.
excess water pressure
High water pressure might feel good, but too much pressure can damage your pipes, and while most pipes and taps can handle water pressure up to a certain level, any excess pressure can cause leaks.
tree roots
Most common water leaks actually start on the outside of your home, not inside. Tree roots are able to penetrate water lines, causing moisture to seep outside and into the yard.
Loose water joint
Sometimes the hoses or pipes supplying water to your appliances become loose, causing leaks and often water connectors become loose when moving house.
Sharp temperature changes
Extreme temperature changes force pipes to expand and contract. This expansion and contraction can cause pipes to crack, especially when it is caused by freezing temperatures.
